Vegan Pastry Recipe

This vegan pastry recipe straight out of the oven is wonderful.

In fact, looking at this photo, I think you must have felt like eating a delicious pastry, right?

And of course, I’m always bringing easy and healthy recipes for you to make, right in your home.

So you’ll only need a few ingredients, so let’s go!

Dough ingredients:

  • 1 cup of wholemeal flour;
  • 1 cup of almond flour;
  • 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil;
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds (optional);
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt or fleur de sel;
  • ½ cup of water.

Filling ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chopped palm hearts;
  • 1 tablespoon of sweet cassava starch or potato starch;
  • 1 large onion, diced;
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil;
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano.

How to prepare the dough:

First, take a large container and mix the flour, chia and salt.

Then add the olive oil and water.

Then mix until you form a very homogeneous ball of dough that doesn’t stick to your hand.

Now transfer to a smooth, floured surface.

Then just roll out the dough with a rolling pin or glass bottle.

Simply cut into discs of the size you prefer.

You can also use a dessert plate to serve as a mold.

Finally set the dough aside.

How to prepare the filling:

At first glance, take a pan and heat the oil and sauté the onion until golden.

Now add the hearts of palm and oregano.

Then mix everything until it is quite homogeneous.

Then dilute the sweet cassava starch or potato starch with a little water and add it to the filling.

Mix well and then turn off the heat.

Now this step is optional, it only serves to make the filling more moist and creamy.

Then just fill the dough with the sautéed palm hearts and close by pressing the edge with a fork.

However, be very careful not to add too much filling, otherwise the dough may break.

Finally, simply transfer the pastries to a pan greased with olive oil and place in a preheated oven at 392° Fahrenheit.

Leaving for about 30 minutes, or until the edges of the pastries are golden, right?
